It is possible to be a story teller through photography

As Halloween approaches, I had a blast making this spooky piece here. I was originally thinking I would make a cutesy composition but then I decided “what the heck”, let’s make something creepy. As I said before, you can tell a story furthermore with compositing. By taking a picture of my wife’s hand (as seen below) and a picture in the same framing of my phone in my hand, I was then able to match the location of the hand and the phone to make a ghostly hand appear to be reaching out of it. In Photoshop I was able to cut out the phone screen and then cut around my wife’s hand in order to achieve the desired look. I then colored the piece and inverted the coloring on her hand to finish the ghost look.
