I cannot continue to stress to you the importance that the sun has when taking photos. By using the available light that you have given to you, you are able to capture stunning moments with people. On this day when I was shooting my models, I was fortunate to have some wonderful cloud cover, which helped create soft shadows on each of their faces to create and even softness across each other their faces.

When it is bright and sunny out, you do need to watch out for those harsh shadows that may fall onto their faces and take away from the image that you otherwise would want to capture.

Playing with the Light

When you find yourself in good weather, be sure to play around with the light that you are given to be looking for those great ways to help your models express themselves. The soft edges are lovely and allows you to be in the outdoors to let mother nature do loads of the work for you.
